For Immediate release
FEDERATION ENTERTAINMENT is proud to announce that it has acquired the international rights for THE TWELVE, a psychological thriller exploring the innate prejudice of jury members, and the difficult task of deciding the fate of a woman accused of a double murder.
The series was produced by EYEWORKS (Peter Bouckaert & Gunter Schmid), one of the most renowned and most acclaimed Film and TV production companies in Belgium (a subsidiary of the Warner Bros. group), in partnership with VRT, VAF/MEDIAFONDS, FEDERATION ENTERTAINMENT and the Belgian tax shelter.
THE TWELVE is a character-driven series which revolves around the jury members in a murder trial. Twelve ordinary people are called for jury duty… coupled with a murder case as traumatizing as it is controversial: the respected School Principal Fri Palmers stands accused of two murders, the latter being her own child.
Gradually, as the trial gains momentum, it is not only Fri’s fate that remains unhinged, the lives of the jury members are also shaken. Each member reacts with their personal scars and life experience. it is in their hands to decide on the guilt or the innocence of a broken woman.
As visually intense as it is psychologically moving, the series was created by Bert Van Dael and Sanne Nuyens (Clan, Hotel Beau Séjour) and is directed by Wouter Bouvijn (Crossroads, Missing Persons Unit).
The series stars Johan Heldenbergh (Alabama Monroe, Tunnel), Maaike Cafmeyer (Bevergem, Homegrown), Tom Vermeir (The Team 2, Salamander 2, The Day) and Charlotte De Bruyne (Flying Home, Behind The Clouds) playing Stefan Munk, Fri Palmers, Yuri Cornille and Holly Ceusters, respectively.
The series is currently in production, and will be released by the end of 2019.
FEDERATION ENTERTAINMENT holds worldwide distribution.
THE TWELVE will be launched during MIPCOM 2018 and will be an important part of Federation Entertainment’s new and ambitious line-up, alongside new shows like SPITFIRE and SECRET ENEMIES, as well the continuing success of BORDERTOWN now in its third season and THE BREAK with its own season two.
