FEDERATION ENTERTAINMENT BOLSTERS INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION ACTIVITIES

In the run up to MIP Cancun, Federation Entertainment is pleased to announce the expansion of its distribution team with the hiring of Leyla Formoso to handle sales and development of the company’s drama programming activities throughout Latin America.

Ms. Formoso, who is French/Venezuelan and a specialist in the Lat Am territories, will be responsible for bolstering distribution operations of Federation’s drama titles throughout the region and will report directly to Jean-Michel Ciszewski, Head of International.   

Both Formoso and Ciszewski will be attending MIP Cancun this week in order to present Federation’s robust slate of drama programming which features titles such as the CANAL+ Creation Originale hit spy thriller The Bureau, the NETFLIX original drama series Marseille, Scandi crime series Bordertown, Israeli series Hostages, as well as Premonitions (Federation’s most recent acquisition unveiled at MIPCOM).

“Federation has already reached a number of important milestones in terms of growth since the company launched just 2 years ago, and we are confident Leyla’s specialist knowledge of the Latin American markets will further consolidate our activities within the region as we continue to extend our reach,” said Jean-Michel Ciszewski, Head of International, Federation Entertainment.

Leyla Formoso’s programming expertise spans 18 years in international sales, production, development and acquisitions. She recently worked on a four year project for Venezuela’s Ministry of Culture where she was responsible for programming sales and acquisitions on behalf of their national channels.  Prior to this Leyla has also worked for various other companies such as Gaumont/Alphanim, Motion Pictures, SevenOne International and Nelvana International (the latter from 1998 to 2005).

As well as her appointment with Federation, Leyla Formoso also continues to handle kids programming sales for Xilam Animation.

Monica Levy, VP Sales and Acquisitions Federation Kids & Family continues to handle global sales of Federation’s kids programming slate.
