Federation Entertainment reports new sales in America and in Europe for BAD BANKS, a thriller series set in the ruthless world of international finance and the stock market.

The series is produced by Letterbox Filmproduktion (Germany) and Iris Production (Luxembourg) with the participation of ZDF and ARTE. A second season of six new episodes is currently in pre-production following the series’ successful broadcast on ZDF and Arte France in March 2018.

Premium streaming service, Hulu, has acquired the U.S. streaming rights to the European drama series (seasons 1 & 2, 12 X 52’). Season one of the series is now available to stream.

In North America, BAD BANKS has also just been sold to Kino Lorber for Home Entertainment rights in the US and Canada.

In Europe, the series has recently been acquired by RTL Luxembourg and by NPO in the Netherlands.

Prior to that, the series had been sold to HBO Europe for all territories in Central Europe and Scandinavia, to RTE in Ireland, to Sundance TV Iberia in Spain and Portugal and to RTP in Portugal; as well as SBS in Australia and Rialto in New Zealand.

More sales are coming, which will make BAD BANKS available overall in nearly 40 countries.

For the record, the first two episodes of BAD BANKS were presented last February in Berlin, as part of the Official Selection for the Berlinale Series.

The series was written by Oliver Kienle (Stronger Than Blood, Four Hands), and directed by Christian Schwochow (Paula, NSU German History X), and features a prestigious cast, including Paula Beer (FrantzDiplomatie), Désirée Nosbusch, Tobias Moretti, Barry Atsma, Jean-Marc Barr.

BAD BANKS is coproduced by Letterbox Filmproduktion, Iris Productions and ZDF with the participation of ARTE, and the support of the Film Fund Luxembourg, Hessen Film and Medien, and the German Motion Picture Fund.

Federation Entertainment holds world rights for the series outside of first windows in France and Germany.
